Review of Knock Knock (2015) by Jordan P — 04 May 2017
Man was this movie terrible. A remake of the film Death Game (1977) this film is just bad on all fronts. The movie in a nut shell is about a man named Evan (Keanu Reeves) who is home alone working because his wife and kids are out for the weekend going to the beach.
In the middle of the night he hears a knock at the door which reveals two young women named Genesis (Lorenza Izzo) and Bell (Ana de Armas). The two women are soaking wet from the rain and tell Even they are lost trying to get to a party.
Evan being a nice dude lets them in, but it soon becomes apparent the two women have more in mind. They seduce Evan and one thing leads to another. Evan realizes the next day that the women are not who they seem.
He gets rid of the women, but they soon start breaking in and torturing Evan using blackmail and threats to put him in a corner. There's more and truthfully even ruining it wouldn't be much of a spoiler, but in case you happen to stumble upon this and don't want to know what's up I'll stop here.
First off Keanu Reeves completely phones in this performance. Easily some of the worst acting I've ever seen. The two women are great to look at, but there change in demeanor never sold me. You never truly figure out why they act so crazy and the movie just kind of sits around for the last hour until the credits hit.
There's some serious pacing options here and there just isn't a lot here to like at all. I would highly recommend not seeing this one!
