Review of Knight Rider (2008) by Jack Y — 12 Mar 2008
Eighties cheese plot transferred to the 21st century with some success. Excellent near-future ideas that could work well with a series, including the use of nanotechnology bots, with Bruening a better actor than the Hoff ever was.
Nice leads in Russo and Poitier, with potential for storyline development. Kilmer voices KITT brilliantly, while Hasselhoff makes a good last-act appearance. Largely plotless and an all-too-obvious product placement vehicle for Ford and its subsidiaries, but never pretends to be anything sophisticated beyond the visual effects.
