Terrence Malick has always pushed film as a medium, creating stunning, visually told stories. With Knight of Cups, however, he's pushed it perhaps a bit too far, leaving even seasoned Malick fans grasping at narrative straws and hoping for the madness to end.
Even Lubezki's beautiful camerawork can't save this project from becoming a bit of a snooze.
