Review of Knight and Day (2010) by Antony G — 20 Sep 2011
A fun action thriller where Tom Cruise throws off the serious shackles of Mission Impossible & takes part in a film which is in most a parody of action films or so I think! This film is a mixture of said Mission Impossible, Cruise plays a spy, and the absurdly Charlie's Angels where the action is quite frankly so over the top it's in orbit! This doesn't distract though as it's quite entertaining & has its funny moments.
Cameron Diaz accidentally meets our spy, Tom Cruise, on the way to her sister's wedding day dress-rehearsal & from then on her life & his are in danger as they are pursued by the bad guys, the CIA & FBI. But who are the bad guys! Is Cruise the baddy? Is he stealing or protecting a technology which will change our energy needs for good while trying to flush out the real bad guys? All in all a throughly entertaining film with the on screen chemistry between Diaz & Cruise a winner (Katey Holmes must had been worried, remember Pitt & Jolie in Mr & Mrs Smith!!).
