Review of Knight and Day (2010) by Bob S — 14 Apr 2012
Often action films are so preposterous and everyone knows it but the actors. However, this film somehow works because Cruise and Diaz are fully included on the joke. The double agent story never gets too complex or suspenseful, but the campy and satirical action sequences add freshness to the film.
The movie is reminiscent of much worse examples such as Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Killers, which make this effort far more tolerable than it should have been. You will also find many similarities to Bond films with Cruiseâ(TM)s character being nowhere near as captive as James Bond.
The concept, however, is the same â" a fun, action-packed story that leaves with you with a smile and the opportunity to escape.
