Review of Knight and Day (2010) by Carlo C — 01 Jul 2015
I thought this was supposed to be a comedy, but it didn't succeed if it was. Some scenes were so over the top, it verged on being a spoof of spy thrillers like Mission: Impossible. Other scenes seemed like straight-up action sequences.
Cameron Diaz acted like she was in a comedy while Tom Cruise couldn't seem to decide whether to play it straight or for laughs. I think this is primarily a fault in direction more than in acting. The pacing and timing were uneven.
Cruise and Diaz never really managed to create the chemistry that would make their relationship believable. The plot had multiple twists just for the sake of extending the story, which was too long for this type of film, whatever it was.
