Review of Klute (1971) by Rod A — 20 Aug 2009
What an amazing film! It's simultaneously sophisticated and crude. It's almost like everyone in the film is naked (though they're all fully clothed). Jane Fonda and Donald Sutherland bring their characters to life with such intelligence.
On the surface, it's a thriller, but that is secondary. The interplay between two sexual beings is what's at play here. I wonder if anyone has the skill to make such a devastatingly quiet film anymore.
