Review of Klute (1971) by Terror A — 06 Aug 2007
Jane Fonda gives a terrific performance in her acclaimed Oscar winning role in this well made and intense mystery/thriller. Donald Sutherland is great as well as the title character but Fonda pretty much steals the film from him.
What really makes this film better than most in the genre is that this is also happens to be a superb character-study, both Sutherland and Fonda's character are well rounded and three dimensional.
The direction is beautifully well done, the score is fantastic and the screenplay is wonderfully written. The main things that I didn't like about film was the ending, which I felt wasn?t as strong as everything leading to it and also it was pretty predicable.
It does get a little slow paced at times but I found it to be a rewarding thriller.
