Review of Kitten Party (2010) by Gaea W — 19 Oct 2010
Lots of inconsistencies that pulled me out of the experience. For example, in the opening scenes, as Whiskers toils away, preparing his home for the kitten party, another almost identical kitten can be seen scampering in the background.
Also, there are supposed to be 15+ kittens in attendance, and I have yet to see more than half a dozen kittens partying in any given shot. Still, this is probably one of the best films I've seen within the kitten party genre.
The partying was well-portrayed, and I enjoyed the film's first-kitten narration approach. In an ideal world, this might have been directed by someone with a better ability to see their vision to fruition (Ang Lee would be great for a sequel) but sometimes you have to love kitten party films--and cats--as they come.
