Review of Kitchen Stories (2003) by Negin A — 18 Sep 2004
If you are in the mood for a relaxed look at the interactions of a couple of independently inclined males, without the need for special effects, lusty women, or explosions, this might be the ticket.
The plot is to put a couple of men, one a cantancorous codger, and the other a mellow, middle-aged, middle-class guy together under awkward circumstances to see the way the interact.
The story unfolds casually and comedicly, though not uproariously comedic.
I came to appreciate the nature of each character, while hoping to see what played out next.
Perhaps 6 is too low of a rating, but I didn't want you to think that it would blow your socks of either.
It is a mellow, touching, and comedic look (through well-acted characters) at the coming-to-terms of these two men.
Enjoy.
