Review of Kit Kittredge: An American Girl (2008) by Pam T — 16 Jul 2008

I just adored this film. Abigail Breslin is such a natural, unaffected little actress who breathes equal parts warmth and moxie into her role. The supporting cast is a treat (especially Stanley Tucci as a huckster magician and Joan Cusack who, frankly, has stolen my act).

A great family film and also a wonderful film to take a senior relative to, as it's set in 1934 during the Great Depression. Actually, it's a gret history lesson for younger ones and also a reality check, with characters losing jobs and having homes goint into foreclosure, it has plotlines that parallel today's current financial climate.

All in all, I recommend it.
