Review of Kit Kittredge: An American Girl (2008) by Malik A — 16 Oct 2008
A decent movie for an airplane, and it had Joan Cusack in it, so that was good. It's quite a predictable movie in many ways.
However, it was interesting that many of the events in the movie were similar to current events. For example, the foreclosure signs going up one house at a time. Or when one of the characters says "people shouldn't be in houses that they can't afford". No kidding. Certainly, times were different in the 1930s, but at least it was interesting to think about. The movie also glamorizes the homeless a bit much, and clearly there is/was good and bad involved in a situation like this.
