Review of Kiss of the Dragon (2001) by Gary C — 19 Feb 2008
The epitome of an action film, but with a suprising amount of heart. Jet Li, although not an incredible actor, is charasmatic enough to pull off his role, and the final crescendo is a breathless powerhouse of a sequence.
Of course, the film is not without its flaws. You wouldn't believe it was set in Paris, with everyone speaking American, which doesn't offer an authentic feel. The music, although with a very nice orchestral piece, has dire rap music throughout. Which depending on how you look it at, could either be a flaw or a decent addition.
Overall, the film is thoroughly worth a watch, and is probably one of Jet Li's best films to date.
I bet you're impressed by how many times I used thoroughly in this review.
