Review of Kiss Me Kate (1953) by Nestor A — 15 Apr 2009
I'm not normally a fan of musicals (and this is very much a musical), but I really do like the play-within-a-play or in this case musical within a musical format. Given that the sub-musical was Shakespeare, that made it that much more appropriate.
Cole Porter's contributions were excellent the dance sequences were all quite good. Overall, a solid way to spend an evening with some impressive costuming and if one pays attention, a neat little twist on Taming of the Shrew.
