Review of Kiss Me Deadly (1955) by Alister N — 30 Aug 2007
With a protagonist so hardnail and cynical its hard not to love him (Ralph Meeker's Mike Hammer), the narrative traverses a series of memorable characters and setpieces through to a jarring sci-fi denouement that acts as a parallel to Cold War Politics and the Atomic Age.
From its murky opening however, its clear this is a film noir that was going to play by its own rules.
