Shane Black sold the first $1m screenplay with Lethal Weapon. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is another buddy comedy, featuring Robert Downey Jr as a thief who accidently ends up auditioning for hollywood films before getting caught up in a murder investigation.
It parodies both noir and movies in general with a sparkling script and a top performance by Downey in a role that is endlessly quoteable.
