One hell of a harboiled comedy with a twist, this movie is Shane Black's true calling card! The dialogues and the chemistry of the actors will blow you way, Downey Jr. knocks it out of the park as the lead, and Kilmer is the perfect aloof mentor for the buddy-driven plot while Monaghan subverts the femme-fatale archetype beautifully.
The plot can get a little smudgy, and that really isn't a bad thing, good movies always demand you to keep up with them!
