Review of Kinyarwanda (2011) by Laura K — 05 Dec 2011
Saw it last night in Alexandria VA (AMC Hoffman). Amazing, complex film. It starts out slow and a bit confusing, and builds slowly to a crescendo. I was mesmerized by the leads and the stories. The film provides insight into the conflict and its aftermath through individuals and their lives.
I found it riveting and haunting. It is searing in its condemnation of wrongdoers, but yet it is not judgmental of groups. And it ends with optimism - can't ask for more!
