Review of Kinsey (2004) by Brian B — 15 Mar 2009
This movie wasn't nearly as risky as some people seem to think it was. Or as risky as it could have been. The approach used by this movie to tell the story was a rather tame one, and I think that was the right way to go. After all, it was about the science and not the sex. What Kinsey also was was the tale of a man who had no separation between his work and private life and the damage it did to the relationships around him.
That said, I've always found something extremely off putting about Neeson's style. It seems a little too detached, a little too 1950s. I had a hard time getting past that.
