Review of Kinsey (2004) by Jerome K — 11 Nov 2011
This biopic was truly superb, wonderfully acted, engaging, and thought provoking; everything I could ask for in a movie. For those of you who don't know, Prof. Alfred Kinsey was a pioneer in researching human sexuality.
As you can imagine, this movie is about sex and what people thought about it and what they didn't know about it. It's a very adult film and I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, especially conservatives.
However, don't let the content overshadow the amazing performances from Liam Neeson and Laura Linney. In many ways, this movie is about the Kinseys, and these two actors really made them shine. I especially admired the trust and honesty of Linney's character.
I can see why she was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in this movie.
