Review of Kinky Boots (2005) by J D — 17 Feb 2008

Another movie along the lines of "Calendar Girls", "The Full Monty", and "Saving Grace" that takes traditional, proper English folks and plunks them down into an "improper" situation.

This time it's the world of cobblers meeting the world of drag queens. And like the above-mentioned movies, because this one focuses less on the situation and more on the characters, it's a highly entertaining film.

Thanks in large part to Chiwetel Ejiofor, who is fast becoming one of my favorite actors. He is able to completely inhabit every role I've seen him in thus far. Great movie with a wonderful boot-themed finale.
