Review of Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) by Jason R — 07 Jan 2016

Part send up, part serious spy movie, Kingsman delivers a terrific mix of dry British wit and exciting action sequences set to increasingly unique music. There's an action scene with numerous killings in a church, and it is set to Free Bird. Yes, I'm serious.

The film feels stretched at some points, including a final battle that seems to drag on for days before it finally ends. But it is never boring. Matthew Vaughn knows how to do movies like these, and with a couple similar titles under his belt, he took his game to the next level for this one, which is truly made good by its eccentricities.
