Review of Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) by Jazen H — 21 Apr 2016
What can be said about this film. Who knew Colin Firth was going to be the perfect gentleman spy? Not me. I didn't even know Colin Firth before this. I knew the name, obviously, but I can't tell you a single role he ever played.
He is amazing as Harry. Upon watching the special features I learned he does all his own fighting in the film as well even the huge now infamous church scene. Colin's line delivery is top notch too.
The funny parts are funny. The fighting is awesome. The story is a little different because we see the young Eggsy go from the streets as a military drop out, a gymnast drop out, and whatever else to be the newest gentleman spy.
.. almost. His spy school rival Roxy (who everyone wants to become the love interest) may just give him a run for his money. Overall I think it's perfect. Yes, like all spy movies you can guess the way it plays out at times, but it's a very fun movie that bridges the gap between old Bond fans and new age finding common ground and enjoying the movie together.
I love it.
