Review of Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) by Dragonsfoe . — 02 May 2016
Manners Maketh Man.
Kingsman: The Secret Service follows Colin Firth as he attempts to recruit a boy from the streets, Eggsy, to join a secret spy organization but things don't go as planned when cybernetic maniac Valentine, tries to take over the world.
Kingsman is a fantastic film filled with great performances, twists and turns, incredible action and a catchy score. Matthew Vaughn keeps on proving how great a director he is, with long shots, and great camerawork, he continues to churn out awesome cinematic experiences. The performances are also a highlight of this film. Edgerton is the breakout star of this film, and Colin Firth is absolutely magnificent in his role which he is perfectly cast. Everyone in the cast did a great job in their performances and as always Henry Jackman does a great score.
Kingsman is marvelous fun and although it is very ridiculous at times, it knows that it's doing. The jokes, the fights and the characters all add up to an old school James Bond film that constantly proves that British people are crazy, in a good way of course.
Besides overdoing it and being predictable at some times Matthew Vaughn's newest film is classy, awesome and just plain ridiculous, crazy fun.
Rating: 8.2 (A-).
