Review of Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) by Elle J — 23 Sep 2017
I really wanted to love this movie but I was so disappointed. I kept finding myself trying to excuse the poor parts of the movie, lots of unnecessary cussing, then comes the weird acting/character by Samuel L.
Jackson, then even the storyline gets weird...real weird, then to end it, it just gets trashy. The only reason I gave it one star is for the potential that the movie had to be good. The story could have been so much better if they just kept on track--inspiring and funny, lovable street kid turns dapper kingsman with swagger.
Like Robin Hood of the streets, but no, they just took it to a weird place. Lots of annoying, forced political references and a murderous church scene had me reaching for the remote a few times, tempted to turn it off.
Wish I would have.
