Review of Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) by M S — 17 Aug 2015
Kingsman: The Secret Service is a spy movie combination of the the elements of James Bond and Mission Impossible movies yet still a unique spy movie on its own. Its story is unique in a sense that it added more background story in spy movies and takes on a younger character to take a lead on spy stories.
Colin Firth, Samuel Jackson (Who was an enjoyable villain here. He surprise me!) and Mark Strong delivered a notable performance. I was also impressed with Firth's action scenes - it was solid, heart-jumping and classy.
The injection of comedy was a relief appreciation for it to sway away from being a serious action movie. It has an interesting story about spy academy, impressive action sequences and highly an entertaining action movie.
I love the colourful fireworks head blow-up scene! This film is based on the comic book The Secret Service created by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar.
