I guess new plots are mashes of old ones - Combine the premises of Men In Black (street smart kid makes agent) with Josie & the Pussycat (mind control) and add thopse slo-mo special effects to the fight scenes much as the Robert Downey Sherlock Holmes films and voila.
It exhibits British cheekiness especially with the absolute proper control from Colin Firth and others along with S. Jackson's street dialog and premise. Worth seeing a few times just for the bar scenes.
