Review of Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017) by Griffin S — 13 Sep 2017
The first movie was five stars to me, so this one was never going to live up to it. It's fun to be back in the Kingsman world, but it seems a lot sillier this time and with CGI overkill that makes everything look too much like a video game.
Still, it's great to have Colin Firth back, Julianne Moore chews into her she-villain role, and Channing Tatum hams it up as a Statesman. Does anyone know if Jeff Bridges has permanent peanut butter in his mouth? He can only talk like his character from 'True Grit' now.
This is big dumb fun, but the first one seemed much smarter and, at 2 hours and 21 minutes, this sequel stretches its ludicrous story way too thin.
