Review of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) by Alex W — 19 Aug 2016
Despite having too many ideas and not resolving all of them to satisfaction, the 8% critics review is staggering. It couldn't be any more baseless. Fear not Final Fantasy Fans, for this film is fantastic and a lot better than I expected!! It establishes a truly original, deep world that is crafted to perfection, looking like a hybrid of New York City in 2075 and a final fantasy city.
The character animation, while at first just seems really good, but the longer the movies goes on, somehow the more spectacular it looks. I swear, if you didn't have your glasses on, the people would look 100% real, its pretty incredible.
I'd have to say, even though Final Fantasy The Spirits Within had graphics well ahead of its time, these graphics are even more impactful compared to what is available on consoles. But even more impressive than the graphics is the art design.
Imagine a world, like ours, only, people only wear the coolest clothes you've ever seen. Every single person. The armor design, weapon design, monster design is truly some of the best i've ever seen.
Do your self a favor and googe "General Glauca" - I assure you, you haven't seen armor that cool since Devil May Cry 4, or, if you play Mobius Final Fantasy, Garland's armor is as cool.
Anyway, back to the movie. Its got character development in droves, almost non-stop action that falls between Epic and Cosmic, Magic, Final Fantasy References, a pretty girly (Princess Lunafreya) and GIGANTIC DEMONS!!!!! If you had any qualms about seeing this movie because of the reviews.
Read this one instead. I'd give it a 70%. It had a coherant and decent plot, but there were too many confusing subplots that didn't really get resolved.
