Review of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) by Bill B — 27 Aug 2016
No spoilers here.
OK critics. if you are not a RPG gamer, of course your going to give it a bad ratting. Why rate it at all than?
Story is an 8/10. In a video game they could of had more time for character development. This leaves some important plot twists coming out of no where. Same applies to some lose ends but I won't hold that against them because it's ment to be apart of the game. For Square Enix's first "Pre-Movie", it still did its job and gives you a want ro play the game.
Graphics... 10/10. I will be honest, I sometimes forgot I was watch a computer generated movie.
Camera control 3/10. A big issue is with high action CG, the fast camera movements make it hard to follow at times. That would be my biggest criticism.
Music 11/10. This is above and beyond. It did have its typical Final Fantasy audio but they thought ahead and invested in cinema composition for this one.
Voice Acting 6/10. It's odd but some voice actors were a 10 and others were a 3. The "3" actors had issues with conveying realistic feeling of the character. Example: monotone during emotional times.
Bonus. The movie actually had easter eggs catering to all the old Final Fantasy fans. With out spoiling the movie, if you review it, you can find elements, characters, and monsters in refrence to: 6, 7, 12, and more that I probably missed.
