Review of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) by Sakurazuka90 — 29 Nov 2016
If you treat this one like stand alone movie, then it's pretty bad. But I tent to think about it as a really long intro to the game. I don't treat it like a full-fledged film, although it's sold to us as such.
And so I can let some of things slide. Like not so great animated side characters or characters that aren't developed enough. But as a prologue to video game it works pretty well. It's far from genius but it's not downright horrible either.
Meaningfull characters are set up just right and we have enough time to understand conflict between game empires. Thanks to this Final Fantasy XV seems to have better start despite smiliarities to XII (which was hard to comperhend at firtst).
It's good at what it's meant to be but as full feature it falls flat. Sometimes it looks amazing, sometimes just so-so. Also I don't think it's worth full price for BD. Still it's better than average.
