Review of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) by Chronofantasy — 29 Aug 2016
Amazing movie. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a fan of the series for the past 18 years, but Square Enix is always ready to give us the best and top quality when it comes to CGI, and a magical world with action and a good plot. Maybe the plot itself in the movie is a somewhat JRPG cliche plot or have been seen again in past FFs, but look at some other movies with almost the same plot over and over again and gets praised and high scores. There's always some bias going around somewhere for those.
It's a spin-off/prequel movie of course, but it paves the way for Final Fantasy XV, and it makes you feel some attachment to the main characters in the movie, even if you know you may never see them again. Usually for me, movies are rushed, then it makes it hard to feel attachment to characters too much, but this movie certainly did it for me.
The plot isn't all that confusing if you are paying attention, while some might just want to sit back and enjoy it for the beautiful action. The movie is good on delivering both.
