The Kingdom of the Spiders was a movie to see in the 1970's. Comparing it to newer scary movies, you think to yourself, who would find this scary? Even today, this movie made you wonder how they got spiders to act.

In this movie I didn't see any real message. I saw more of pioneering monster movies. Alongside Jaws and King Kong, the 1970's brought out some of the most known movies that involve killer animals.

Kingdom of the Spiders was not one of them. I felt the storyline was very confusing in the beginning. It started to get better near the beginning of the second half. I don't know what the time period was in the movie, but it didn't seem that much different from the 1970's.

The sets and costumes seemed realistic and made sense. One character I could not stand was the girl who was so afraid of spiders. She would cry when one spider got on her. She was one of the reasons why I didn't like the movie as much.

I felt the lighting and camera angles stayed the same during the whole movie. Maybe I have too high of standards for a movie from the 1970's, but I feel like these newer movies outshine it. Newer movies don't always beat out classics, but in this case, Horton Hears a Who > The Kingdom of the Spiders.

Horton Hears a Who at least makes sense. I'm talking to the people in Kingdom of the Spiders have a breakdown when a spider is on them.
