Review of Kingdom of Heaven (2005) by John E — 16 Apr 2012

Great film, I watched the extended directors cut and loved it. Orlando Bloom does a fine job leading a diverse ensemble of which Jeremy Irons and Liam Neeson were great. Brendan Gleeson and Bloom worked together in Troy also but they were both far better in this, Bloom in particular put on muscle and pulled off the fighting very convincingly.

Seems he's bread for this type of role. Unlike some other movies in the genre this only continues to pick up momentum and doesn't dip in and out. Well worth a watch.
