Review of Kingdom of Heaven (2005) by Danny D — 14 Jan 2011
As I am writing this review, I have only seen the 194 minute Director's Cut of the film on Blu-Ray; having seen it, that is the ONLY version you ever need to see! The pacing is nearly perfect, the photography and score are wonderful, and the special effects are seamless and stunning.
The acting is also uniformly excellent, and the whole movie has the kind of sweep and depth of character I expect from films like "Lawrence of Arabia" or the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
For fans of Ridley Scott, period pieces, or great epic filmmaking in general, the Director's Cut of "Kingdom of Heaven" is an absolute must!
