Review of Kingdom of Heaven (2005) by Ze P — 30 Aug 2011
Watched this movie a time ago and did it again yesterday. I enjoyed it a lot, very good movie, with good acting and was especially pleasant seeing a dark Orlando Bloom, doing more serious movie. Basically this movie translates the crusades, the fights between muslims and christians for the rule of Jerusalem, and Balian (Orlando) decides to enter this war, after a knight called Godfrey (Liam Neeson) told him he is his father and endulges him to help him defend the city of Jerusalem.
So this movie is very good, and very underrated. I went to rt to see the rating of the critics and its around 40%, although the audience aprecciated it more (around 70%). The plot isnt very complex or tricky, however its appealing and entertaing, and is very nicelly conected to history. The cast is very good and delivers, especially Orlando Bloom, Liam Neeson, Eva Green and Jeremy Irons (reunites with Liam after The Mission, very good movie too). About the war action its amazing, bloody and realistic. The effects are very good, Jerusalem looks fantastic.
Therefore, I recommend it to everyone, its a nice historical epic movie, with a great cast, good plot and amazing action sequences (the siege of Jerusalem is pretty awesome). Had a blast.
