Review of Kingdom of Heaven (2005) by Cage F — 26 Mar 2011

While not the greatest movie, I will give it points for capturing a truly epic feel at times.

There are very few movies dealing with the Crusades but I believe the period holds a lot of potential and this movie certainly capitalizes on some of it. The visuals capture a lot of the epic feel this movie has to offer with glorious battle sequences and a grand shots of a reconstructed Jerusalem.

Many of the performances are strong with the weakest perhaps belonging to Orlando Bloom in the lead role. Nevertheless, I would undoubtedly recommend this movie to people though it's long run time is certainly a bit of a draw back to some.
