Old-fashioned African adventure based on the H. Rider Haggard novel is entertaining despite its dated cheesiness with some effective shot-on-location exotic atmosphere. Stewart Granger has some presence as the legendary Allan Quatermain, though the rest of the cast is a bit bland - it has its slow, talky moments, but there are also some engaging set pieces.
Not any kind of masterpiece, but entertaining enough for classic movie fans.
