Review of King of New York (1990) by Simon D — 08 Jan 2012
Walken is the film's saving grace. His performance a dizzy combination of bizarre inflections, sly grins and quietly menacing gestures. He's playful enough to remain likeable, cold enough to convince as the ruthless eponymous gangster of this somewhat unusual tale of a flawed, brutal man who wants to use drug-money to fund a local hospital.
