Review of King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) by Ryan H — 15 Oct 2007
A thoughtful, moving rumination on the barriers between East and West. Two giant monsters, one Japanese, the other American, attempt to resolve their differences and try to make some sense of this ever-changing world, even as that world shuns and reviles them both and shoots them with missiles.
A poignant, arresting finale leaves the interpretation in the viewer's hands. Features Jon Voight in a surprising comic turn as the giant octopus Oodaku.
