King Kong vs. Godzilla was originally King Kong vs. Frankenstein, but when Toho bought it from dying Willis O' Bryan, they switched Frankenstein to Godzilla. This movie was supposed to be a sequel to King Kong, since Godzilla wasn't as popular at the time.
This is the third movie for both as is the first color for each. As the story goes, Japanese people bring Kong to Tokyo for a show but when both Kong and Godzilla break free from their prisions, they head toward each other on a colllision course for disaster, in the biggest fight of the century.
