Review of King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) by Willian Alberto S — 11 Jun 2012

Ok, it's bad, but it's a guilty pleasure of mine. It doesn't succeed as a King Kong sequel and a great deal of the Godzilla plot doesn't make sense. And a great deal of the special effects look bad, like that blue outline of everything in the foreground and everything in the foreground moving when the camera moves.

And Kong looks terrible. Nonetheless it's great in a campy way, really the first cheesy Godzilla movie. The King of the Monsters looks great in color for the first time and he has a great showdown with Kong.

The movie's a lot of fun.
