Review of King Kong (2012) by Timothy D — 21 Jul 2014
Perhaps I'm not into CGI enough to appreciate, but the scenes in here felt far more "fake" to me than the Bridges version without. The scenes with the dinosaurs were by far the worst. The guy in the old Godzilla costumes was more realistic.
(I would rather play a computer game than watch one.) It also seemed to be that the movie was set to be about Jack Black and Jack Driscoll. The movie should be about Kong and Darrow. Too often they came across as background players, which considering that Watts was a compelling figure, is really too bad.
At over 3 hours it did not do enough to hold my interest.
