Review of King Kong (2005) by Matt M — 09 May 2013
A film crew travels to a deserted island to shoot some exotic scenes and runs into a colossal gorilla. Despite all the technical advancements that have been made since the original was released in 1933, this film is not successful in trying to recreate its magic.
Peter Jackson's film lacks a feeling of genuinity, and exaggerates the melodrama. Yes, it looks spectacular, and the effects are as gppd as they could get, but the film's length lessens its impact and in the end it just seems overwhelmingly artificial.
