Review of King Kong (2005) by Anna B — 13 Jun 2014
The CGI has not aged well, especially the chroma key, which is comically unconvincing. The scenes where humans run around the legs of dinosaurs without being touched are just irritating to watch, and Jackson's idea of action seems to be to shove as much cartoonish, excessive chaos and mayhem into the frame as he can.
The third act is a massive improvement over the endless Skull Island section, and it goes without saying that Naomi is perfect. But...you know.
