Review of King Kong (1933) by Bobby L — 31 May 2010
The classic. This was a game changer, showing us a monster we (sort of) feel bad for.
Willis O'Brien's detail to attention on the creature, and how expressive he makes him, especially those big, sad eyes, really make you feel bad for him.
The acting is god all the way around, and the action beats are exciting. There's a reason this movie has endured for so long, and has influneced so many filmmakers, and has been remade countless of times. It's big, exciting, and with a great sense of awe and adventure, delivers a great spectulte.
