Review of King Kong (1933) by Gary H — 26 Jun 2011
Not the 1st film to use stop action but the story of the giant ape is the monster horror film all others will be judged by. One scene (King Kong lifts a log knocking all the men on it into the valley below where giant spiders attack and kill them) that was considered too terrifying for audiences was cut and is considered lost.
"It was beauty that killed the beast".
