It is nice to watch this type of movie during Easter time,to be reminded what King David's life would be like,I read the bible,it is a little bit different from the movie,but they have the same portrayal of King David who stole Uriyah's wife,who became his wife,the sad part their first child died after birth,and king David's first child from another wife is the one he really loved ,his son Absolom,who tried to kill him.Betrayal,cheating,stealing,jelousy is all common to mankind,the deepest sadness to us all as human being.King David loves his bestfriend Jonathan son of King Saul.But the good thing about him he is faithful to his friend,He love his son Absolom,eventough he wants to kill him,he did passed his kingdom to his son king Solomon.
Richard Gere is so hundsome & fit to be a king David character in 1985.
