Review of King Creole (1958) by Wendy B — 15 Jan 2009
My very favorite Elvis movie ever. I watched this on TV years ago and loved it. Great music and cinematography (filming this in black and white was very creative), and good story, too. I wonder how Carolyn Jones (she plays the gangster's girlfriend, and would later portray Morticia Addams in the TV version of "The Addams Family") felt when she and Elvis were kissing? I'm just sad that some of the beautiful scenery in the movie was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina (it was filmed on location in New Orleans).
But as far as Elvis movies go, this one is tops. :).
