Don't listen to the critics. Not sure if it's an age thing or if it's just too hip and modern for some people. If you like Guy Ritchie films you'll definitely enjoy it. If not, you'll still like it as long as you don't expect a traditional drama-ish story of King Arthur.
It's more modern and fast-paced, with time-jumps that actually make sense. Charlie Hunnam was perfect as this King Arthur. Eric Bana as Arthur's father has some pretty thrilling, heroic scenes.
Yes, there are awesome elephants like in LOTR and you really get to see the power of Excalibur.
